The difference starts
here
These initiatives are making a healthier community
Golden Cross Congregational Health Ministry.
Through partnering
churches, Methodist provides health outreach and education.
Life Shines Bright Pregnancy Program.
This program has successfully
lowered the preterm birth rate for its participants from 18 percent to
only 5.6 percent.
MedAssist.
This program helps patients in financial need acquire vital
medications through pharmaceutical partnerships.
Methodist Generations.
The program offers a variety of wellness
activities, social events, and education outreach throughout the year
for people age 55 and older.
Prostate Screening and Awareness Program.
This free service reached
a milestone this year, screening its 80,000th man for prostate cancer.
More than 3,906 men in the Methodist Dallas service area benefited
from this service, which provides more screenings than any other
hospital-based program in the nation.
Certified Application Counselor (CAC) Assistance.

System has counselors available 24/7 to assist anyone wanting to enroll
in the national health insurance exchange program.
We also support numerous community endeavors and organizations,
including AIDS Services of Dallas, American Cancer Society, American
Heart Association, Chief on the Beat Health Fair, Dallas Earth Day, Friends
of Fair Park, Friends of Oak Cliff Park, Kiest Park Community Group,
March of Dimes Walk, MegaFest, National Night Out Against Crime, North

Community outreach also extends to schools and youth initiatives,
such as High School for the Health Professions, The Kessler School, Kidd
Springs Swim Team, Mayor’s Back to School Fair, Mesquite ISD Education
Foundation, and Rosemont Early Childhood PTA.
Methodist Dallas’ MeTime free
women’s health event featured
a speed-meet format, allowing
attendees to mingle with physicians
such as OB-GYN Theresa Patton, MD.
Women also took advantage of
exercise demos, running shoe
analyses, and bra fittings.
Interesting
and
fun
are not words
often used to describe a men’s
health event, but Methodist Dallas
accomplished both with moMENtum,
hosted at TopGolf Dallas. Here
urologist Jeffrey Toubin, MD, hits a
few drives in between health chats
with attendees.
