In an age when almost everyone is
a smartphone user, a new trend has
emerged among health care providers:
prescribing patients phone apps for
quick access to health and wellness
tools. Here are a couple you may
want to consider adding to
your smartphone:
MapMyFitness.
This application
is extremely user-friendly and
customizable to your exact
plan of losing and managing weight.
MapMyFitness is one of the highest-
rated apps among health app users
because it gives stats and updates
during a workout, making it much
easier to track your progress.
LogFrog DB.
This app allows
you to track blood glucose
values, medication, carbohy-
drates, and exercise — all of which are
key factors in keeping diabetes under
control. A graphing tool lets you iden-
tify trends in your blood sugar levels
and set daily reminders for taking
medication and checking glucose.
Apps can help with other health
goals, too, such as managing
medications or stress, avoiding
allergens, breaking the tobacco
habit, or coping with menopause.
Just be sure to talk to your
physician about whether
these tools are right for you.
