TACKLING CHRONIC DISEASE:
Methodist Health System hosted free health
screenings at Cowboys Stadium on Nov. 12. At the free health fair, military veterans
and the public received free health and wellness information, biometric screenings,
and one-on-one consultations with a Methodist physician or nurse. More than
600 participants attended the event and were also given a free pass to tour Cowboys
Stadium at a later date of their choosing.
LIFE SHINES BRIGHT’S NEWHOME:
The Methodist Dallas Medical Center
Golden Cross Academic Clinic recently opened a renovated fourth floor to even further
enhance community outreach service opportunities, including the Life Shines Bright
Pregnancy Program. Here, Stephen Patrick, MD (right), discusses the new facility with
special guests, including representatives from community agencies supporting and
partnering in funding for the project.

philanthropist Trevor Rees-Jones (center), recipient of the
2011 Robert S. Folsom Leadership Award at a banquet
Oct. 5. The award recognizes people whose demonstrated
commitment and excellence in community leadership
emulates the achievements of former Dallas Mayor
Robert S. Folsom. The event raised $1 million to benefit
Methodist’s pastoral care ministries, which provided
more than 130,000 pastoral visits last year alone.
HELPING BABIES BE BORN ON TIME:
Methodist
Charlton hosted the March of Dimes health disparity
summit, “Prematurity: A Family Struggle and Community
Crisis.” Methodist Charlton Nurse Manager Evelina Echols-
Sutton served as a member of the panel and discussed the
Centering Pregnancy

–based Life Shines Bright Pregnancy
Program coming to Methodist Charlton. Also attending the
