When a heart attack happens,
many of us expect to be
warned of its arrival with
pain down the left arm,
tightening of the chest,
and dizziness. But you may
not expect these distress
triggers that are just as
important to know:
w
w
Fatigue
w
w
Indigestion
w
w
Acid reflux
w
w
Sleep disturbances
w
w
Shortness of breath
w

Anxiety.
The most important
thing to remember is that
you need to listen to your
body. If you notice that you
haven’t been able to keep
up with your regular routine,
activity, or workload, you
should check with your
primary care physician to
make sure your heart isn’t
in trouble.

MAKE THE CALL
In an emergency, it’s better
to call 911 instead of

Pay attention to these unexpected
signs of a heart attack
Each spring it’s easy to lay the blame
for allergies at the feet
of Mother Nature. She
can keep her pollen and
ragweed, thank you very
much. But the allergens
causing your itchy red eyes and
sore throat might have less to do with
the seasons changing and more to do with
your own home.
Here Hania Alaidroos, MD, family medicine
physician at Methodist Richardson Medical
Center, identifies a few common right-under-
your-nose allergens and explains how to best
handle them.
